Fiorentina are prepared for the eventuality of losing Chelsea target Juan Cuadrado, but do not believe he is likely to leave this month, club manager Vincenzo Guerini has explained.

Chelsea are keen on scooping up the Colombia winger, but are not prepared to pay the release clause contained in his Fiorentina contract, which is set at €35m, and from which the Italian side will not budge.

Indeed, the Blues are thought only willing to go as high as €25m, which is not acceptable to the Serie A side.

Guerini has restated Fiorentina's position, while assuring the club's fans that La Viola are prepared for any eventuality, even that of Cuadrado's clause being hit.

"The risk of losing the player is there, but we as a club are prepared for any eventuality", Guerini told Sky Italia.

"There is nothing, however [to report at the moment].

"The player has renewed his contract and is happy here, plus there is a very high clause.

"We are prepared for a possible replacement, if someone pays the clause."

Cuadrado has been a regular fixture for La Viola this season, making 16 appearances in Serie A for the club, scoring four goals and providing three assists.

Chelsea are thought to want Cuadrado as a potential replacement for winger Mohamed Salah, who is being chased by Roma, while forward Andre Schurrle has been linked with heading to Wolfsburg.
