Arsenal and Tottenham Hotspur target Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang has extended his contract with Borussia Dortmund until the summer of 2020.

Aubameyang’s existing contract with BVB was ending in 2018 and his new deal will see him at Signal Iduna Park until 2020.

The Gabon international was heavily linked with a move to north London with Arsenal and Spurs keen on prising him away to the Premier League, but the latest developments have landed their pursuit with a huge blow.

The forward has expressed his delight at the signing of his contract, saying that he never wanted to leave the club.

“I'm absolutely delighted that the next years of my career will be spent at Borussia Dortmund”, he was quoted as saying by the club website.

“I feel very happy at the club, in this team and in this city. BVB has become like a second home to me.

“Every part of me wants to be here and I have never wanted to leave”, he concluded.

Borussia Dortmund sporting director Michael Zorc also expressed his elation at tying the 26-year-old to a new deal.

"Auba has developed outstandingly. We are very happy that we have been able to tie him down to a long-term contract."

He has been at the Bundesliga club since the summer of 2013 when he signed under then BVB manager Jurgen Klopp from French Ligue 1 outfit Saint-Etienne.
