Rangers midfielder Gedion Zelalem has explained that he wants to take a leaf out of Hector Bellerin’s book in view of breaking into Arsenal’s first team next season.
Bellerin has regularly featured for Arsenal since the Gunners cut short his loan deal from then Championship outfit Watford in February 2014.
The Spaniard is now Arsenal’s first choice right-back, with the 20-year-old keeping France international Mathieu Debuchy out of the team.
And Zelalem, who initially joined Rangers on a loan deal until January in the summer, with the deal being extended for the remainder of the season this month, insisted that he wants to follow the footsteps of Bellerin.
“Obviously [I want to] break through to the first team, [the] same as Hector Bellerin [has done]”, the starlet told Rangers TV, when asked about his goals for next season.

“He’s done fantastic and is the number one right-back – so that’s my target.”
Zelalem, whose present deal with Arsenal runs until 2017, has thus far made two appearances for the north London club.
The American has made a significant impact at Rangers this season, providing eight assists in 17 games in all competitions. But Zelalem is yet to manage a goal for the Gers.
