Aberdeen boss Derek McInnes has refused to give up hope of winning the Scottish Premiership title though he concedes that the crown will be Celtic's to lose.

The Dons are eight points behind league leaders Celtic with five matches left to be played to decide the fate of the title.

According to the 44-year-old manager, his team will not stop believing until the very last moment and will try to win all the five games while also relying on how their title rivals perform.

Then again, the manager wants to look at it practically and insists that the title will be the Bhoys' to lose and given the kind of reputation they have it will be highly unlikely that they will slip up.

McInnes also took time to speak on the issue of Ronny Deila's decision to leave the club at the end of the season, insisting that with the kind of the team the Hoops have, the announcement won't be a determining factor.

Speaking on the issue of whether he felt a league win was still possible the manager, was quoted as saying by the STVt: "I said after the Hearts game [a match they lost 2-1] that I felt the possibility of winning the league was all but beyond us.

"While it's mathematically still possible, we are not going to give it up, we are going to try and win every game and try and win the next game, which is the most important thing.

"It's only Celtic's to lose, it would need a dramatic collapse over the last five games.

"The league form has suggested that won't be the case, they have never shown that at any time over the past few seasons and I wouldn't think that would change now.

"Only time will tell whether the changes there will have an impact on results but the players and squad there are still capable of getting results, regardless of who is in charge."
