Celtic boss Ronny Deila has hailed second placed Aberdeen's efforts this season and insists that his men will be in for a tough game against Derek McInnes's team this Sunday.

This weekend's game at Celtic Park is something of a damp squib as Aberdeen have no chance of overhauling Celtic at the top of the Scottish Premiership standings.

The gap between the two sides is nine points and, despite three games being left to play, the goal difference between the two sides means Celtic have effectively sealed their fifth league title in a row..

For Deila, the importance of a league win by as many points as possible is of utmost importance and the game against Aberdeen will be an opportunity just to do that.

The Norwegian manager insists that his team will be looking to take their first-half performance from the 3-1 win against Hearts last weekend into the match so that they can manage all three points.

"We will be aiming to take our first-half performance against Hearts [into the game] and do everything we can to get three points", Deila said at his pre-match press conference.

"Hopefully there will be a lot of people in the stadium and it will be a game between the two best teams in Scotland.

"You want to win the league by as many points as you can but you have to credit Aberdeen as well.

"They have had a very good season, have been very consistent and pushed a lot. It should be a good football game."
