Chelsea have made a bid of €25m plus add-ons for Napoli defender Kalidou Koulibaly, but the Italian side are not ready to let the 24-year-old leave for less than €40m, while Manchester United have now appeared on the scene, according to Gazzetta dello Sport.
The defender has been angling for an improved contract at Napoli and has not yet agreed an extension with the Serie A club. He threatened to start talks with other clubs if Napoli did not show their appreciation for his services, but the Azzurri were angered by his comments.
Koulibaly is attracting interest from Chelsea, where incoming manager Antonio Conte wants to strengthen his defensive options ahead of the forthcoming campaign.
Now, according to Sky Italia, Chelsea have slapped in a bid of €25m for the defender, with add-ons tagged on, while there is also interest now from Manchester United.
Napoli though value the former Racing Genk centre-back at the €40m mark, a figure it is not clear whether Chelsea or Manchester United will be willing to reach.
