Chelsea legend Pat Nevin has urged Blues boss Antonio Conte to start Cesc Fabregas in the club's EFL Cup game against Leicester City on Tuesday.
The Spain international, who came on as a late substitute in the 2-1 Premier League loss to Liverpool on Friday night, is yet to start a league game this season.
Fabregas’ only start of the season came in a 3-2 win over Bristol Rovers in an EFL Cup fixture last month, while he has only managed 32 minutes of action in three Premier League games combined in the present campaign.
And Nevin, who thinks Conte will start counting on Fabregas once he sees the Spaniard in full swing, feels the former Barcelona star should be given a chance against the Foxes.
However, the 53-year-old was quick to add that Fabregas should put in an impressive display to help his chances if called upon by Conte to start at the King Power Stadium.

“If there's one player I want starting the game, it's a kid called Fabregas. I want him on the pitch”, Nevin explained to Chelsea TV, following the Blues' loss to Liverpool.
“The gaffer will know how good he is. He will know his passing capabilities, but it's for Cesc to put that spirited performance in, moving it about.
“I want to see Cesc getting a chance and I want him to have a good game.
“And I think when the manager sees him at his best that is something that will be added to our capabilities until the end of the season.”
Fabregas, who joined Chelsea from Barcelona in the summer of 2014, has thus far amassed 100 appearances for the Blues, scoring 11 times and providing 34 assists.
