Loic Remy has revealed why he chose to sign for La Liga side Las Palmas after being released by Chelsea, amid interest from Wolverhampton Wanderers.

Wolves made a move to tempt Remy to drop down into the Championship on deadline day, but the French striker was not willing to abandon his commitment to join Las Palmas.

He has signed a two-year contract with the Canary Island club and has explained why he was sold on joining a side he feels play technical and quick football.

Remy revealed that Kevin-Prince Boateng, who played for Las Palmas last season, said he should not think twice about signing for the Spanish side.

"My goal was to play again and enjoy my football.

"I am looking forward to playing my first match.

"I hear the team are very technical and play very fast.

"I did not know much about Las Palmas, but Prince told me not to think twice about it", Remy added.

Boateng scored ten goals in La Liga for Las Palmas last season, but chose to quit the club for Eintracht Frankfurt this summer.

Remy has taken the number 7 shirt at the club, which was worn last term by Boateng, and Las Palmas will hope he can be equally as prolific.
