Boufal played just a minute of football after last season resumed in June and is firmly out of Ralph Hasenhuttl’s plans at St. Mary’s.

He is in the final year of his contract at Southampton and both the player and the club are ready to part ways before the transfer window slams shut next month.

Olympiacos have reportedly agreed on personal terms with the player, but a deal is not done yet and Boufal has fresh interest from France.

According to French sports daily L’Equipe, Angers have entered into talks with the winger over a potential move to Ligue 1 in the final weeks of the transfer window.

Angers are in the market to add more creativity to their squad before the window closes on 5th October.

And in Boufal they see a good opportunity to sign a player of quality without a big outlay on transfer fee and wages.

The former Lille winger is considering a move back to France, but has not made any definitive decision on his next club.

He has rejected offers from China and the Middle East and wants to play in one of the top five leagues of Europe next season.
