The Gers star rose through the ranks at the Emirates after joining the Gunners Under-18s squad in the summer of 2012 and though he never established himself as a first team player, he had several top players to look up to in north London.

Former Arsenal duo Cazorla and Coquelin were part of then Gunners boss Arsene Wenger’s senior squad and Kamara, who was trying to break into the first team, received support from them.

The Finn revealed that both Cazorla and Coquelin took him under their wing and looked after him while he was climbing the ranks at Arsenal.

Kamara added that the ex-Gunners duo influenced him heavily as he tried to model his own game on them.

Asked which senior players he looked up to at Arsenal, Kamara told Rangers TV: “There are loads of players.

“I definitely liked Santi Cazorla and Coquelin.

“And they looked after me when I was there.

“Great players and yes, I looked up to all of them, really tried to model my game on them.”

Coquelin is currently plying his trade at La Liga outfit Villarreal, while Cazorla is playing at Qatari Stars League outfit Al-Sadd.
