The 24-year-old midfielder previously had an unfruitful spell in England where he spent half a season at Tottenham Hotspur on loan.

He did little of note before returning to his parent club Benfica, but Fernandes seems to have rekindled his career in Turkey.

He joined Besiktas last summer and his performances have led to interest from a clutch of Premier League sides.

Wolves are amongst the teams who have their eyes on the midfielder and he is being closely monitored by the Black Country club.

Julen Lopetegui is confident of helping Wolves to survive in the Premier League in the ongoing season.

And the Wolves boss is already looking forward to the summer and Fernandes is a player the club like.

But any move for Fernandes is likely to come up against stiff competition from several teams in the Premier League.

Aston Villa, Crystal Palace and Fulham are amongst the clubs who are also interested in the 24-year-old midfielder.
