Torreira has clocked regular game time at Galatasaray this season, but the jury is out on whether the Turkish club will be able to call upon him next term.

The former Arsenal midfielder is attracting interest from several clubs, including from the Premier League, where Newcastle are keen.

According to Turkish daily Takvim, Newcastle have been in touch with Torreira’s agent to present their project for the coming years.

They are not the only side to have done so though, with AC Milan and Napoli also having made moves.

Torreira has significant experience of playing in Italy, having turned out for Pescara, Sampdoria and Fiorentina.

The midfielder’s deal at Galatasaray runs until the summer of 2026 and the Turkish side are claimed to be looking for a tempting offer to agree to part ways with him.

Galatasaray currently sit at the top of the Turkish Super Lig and boast a two-point lead over Besiktas, while they also have two games in hand on their Istanbul rivals.
