Firpo recently returned from a lengthy layoff and Leeds boss Daniel Farke has been trying to provide him with as much game time as possible.

The Spaniard has been struggling with injuries since last season and it has plagued his time at Elland Road.

Firpo conceded that not being able to play due to injuries is extremely frustrating as he at least wants to remain available for selection consistently for Leeds.

He believes that he has the footballing qualities to get into the team if and when he is fit to play but being out for several months due to various injuries has affected his ability to remain available.

Firpo told Spanish outlet Relevo: “I am worried about not being able to play, which is being injured.

“Whether they put you in or not is the coach’s decision but the goal is to be available.

“If you achieve that, the rest are football qualities and I think I have them.

“The only problem is that the injuries do not allow me to do that.

“The fear of injury disappears as soon as you enter the pitch.”

Firpo started in Leeds’ 1-1 draw against Rotherham United last month and made another appearance from the bench against Middlesbrough last weekend.
