Torino are plotting to win the race for Rangers target Josh Doig by coming up with a deal which satisfies Hellas Verona.

Hellas Verona are seriously considering selling Doig this month as they bid to overcome financial issues.

The Verona club believe that the Scottish defender is worth in the €6m range, but that is a sum that Torino are not prepared to pay.

Torino, who view the left-back as a left winger, are now working on a deal to convince Hellas Verona and think they can achieve it by including players, according to Italian daily Tuttosport.

The Turin side feel that €2.5m plus the free loans of midfielder Gvidas Gineitis and attacker Demba Seck could do the business.

Hellas Verona though prefer attacker Yann Karamoh.

Rangers are also interested in Doig as they bid to back boss Philippe Clement in this month’s transfer window.

The Gers have question marks over both their left-backs in the shape of Borna Barisic and Ridvan Yilmaz.

And they may be encouraged by Hellas Verona being willing to compromise on their asking price for Doig.
