Tottenham Hotspur defender Eric Dier will not be subject to an offer from West Ham United during this month’s transfer window, according to the Evening Standard.
Dier only has six months left on his contract at Tottenham and has been tipped as a possible departure from the club this month.
West Ham, who may need to sign another centre-back, especially if Nayef Aguerd is sold, have been keeping tabs on Dier.
However, the Hammers have now ruled out making a move for the defender.
West Ham are minded to look elsewhere in the event they need another centre-back, with Bayer Leverkusen’s Jonathan Tah a target.
Dier also has interest from Italy, where both Roma and Napoli have been linked with being keen on him.
Moving so close to the end of his Spurs contract may not be something which appeals to Dier though.
The defender would likely have more choice and stand to earn more money if he sees out his Spurs deal and then departs as a free agent in the summer.
