Napoli’s chances of beating Tottenham Hotspur to the signature of Radu Dragusin have almost completely disappeared, with north London a welcome destination for the defender.

Dragusin has been at the centre of a transfer scrap between Napoli and Tottenham, with it being suggested he would be happy to join either side.

Tottenham have now kicked on in talks with Genoa though and are firmly in the lead in the chase.

And according to Italian broadcaster Rai Sport (via Calcio Napoli 24), Napoli’s chance of signing Dragusin has now almost completely disappeared.

Tottenham are a pleasing destination for the Romania international and he wants to make the move.

Spurs now have to push a full agreement with Genoa for Dragusin over the line; they have already agreed personal terms.

There may yet be another twist in the transfer saga however.

It is suggested that German champions Bayern Munich have discussed Dragusin as an option internally.

Whether the Bavarians, who have former Tottenham talisman Harry Kane on the books, make a move for the Romanian remains to be seen.
