Marseille are hoping to be able to reach an agreement with Hellas Verona for the signature of Rangers target Josh Doig.

The 21-year-old left-back joined the Italian outfit from Hibernian in the summer of 2022 and he has impressed with his performances for Verona.

Doig is attracting interest from several European outfits and Rangers are one of his suitors in the ongoing transfer window.

Rangers boss Philippe Clement wants to add the young left-back to his squad, but the Gers are facing stiff competition from Torino and now Marseille.

Marseille are keen on landing Doig and Verona are open to sanctioning the sale if the numbers make sense

According to French outlet Foot Mercato, Marseille are now locked in talks with Verona to try to find common ground.

The French giants have not yet reached the stage of slapping in a bid for Doig, but they are expected to do so.

Rangers have question marks over their left-back options in Borna Barisic and Ridvan Yilmaz, but may have to act quickly if they are to land Doig.
