Paris Saint-Germain have probed the possibility of signing Manchester United defensive target Giorgio Scalvini, it has been claimed in France.
The 20-year-old centre-back has been putting in commanding performances at the heart of Atalanta’s backline this season.
He is widely considered to be one of the best young defenders in Europe and there is a growing list of suitors for him.
Manchester United have been heavily scouting the centre-back intending to make a move for him in the next summer transfer window.
According to French outlet Foot Mercato, PSG have joined the race for Scalvini as well after monitoring him for a while.
He is high on the shortlist of Parisians and the club have already put in an inquiry for the young defender.
PSG are aware of the difficulties of signing Scalvini as Atalanta want at least €50m before agreeing to sell him.
Manchester United are also claimed to be leading the race to sign the young defender from the Italian club.
But PSG are in the race for him and are considering making a move for him next summer.
