Rangers target Josh Doig is not moving to Marseille, with the French side determined to wait no longer to complete the swoop, according to Italian journalist Fabrizio Romano.

Doig has been keen to make the move to the Stade Velodrome, with Marseille holding talks with Italian side Hellas Verona to do a deal.

The French giants have not managed to get the green light from Hellas Verona though and will wait no longer for Doig.

Marseille have moved on to trying to sign Young Boys star Ulysses Garcia.

Doig has also been linked with a possible return to Scotland with Rangers, who are looking to land a left-back.

Whether the collapse of Doig’s move to Marseille will spur Rangers into action remains to be seen.

The Gers have major question marks over their left-back options with Ridvan Yilmaz and Borna Barisic both linked with possible moves away.

Doig could present an attractive option for Rangers boss Philippe Clement depending upon Hellas Verona’s price tag.
