Brentford are having second thoughts about spending big on Newcastle United and Tottenham Hotspur target Antonio Nusa in the summer.

Nusa was on the cusp of joining the London club in the winter transfer window after a deal was agreed with Club Brugge.

An agreement worth €37m was in place between the two clubs but Brentford discovered issues with his knee during a medical.

The Premier League club hit the pause button on the transfer as they wanted to further assess his medical condition.

It has been claimed that it is not a massive issue and the 18-year-old only experiencing growth problems in his knee cartilage, but according to Belgian outlet Voetbalkrant, Brentford might decide against signing him.

Brentford were expected to hold more talks with Club Brugge over working out a deal to sign Nusa in the summer.

However, the club are now having second thoughts about doing the deal on the agreed terms.

Brentford are no longer sure that they want to spend €37m to sign Nusa from Club Brugge in the summer.

Newcastle and Tottenham have their eyes on the teenager as well and it remains to be seen whether they decide to step in to try and sign Nusa.
