Philippe Clement has insisted that his Rangers players need to play out of their skins against Benfica on Thursday night to reach the quarter-finals of the Europa League.

Rangers managed to walk away from Portugal with a 2-2 draw against Benfica last week in the first leg of their Europa League last 16 tie.

The Glasgow giants’ European form at Ibrox means many believe that they have a massive chance of getting a result against Benfica and reaching the quarter-finals of the Europa League.

Clement confirmed that Todd Cantwell is back in the squad after missing the last five games due to a hamstring injury.

The Rangers boss is aware of the enormity of the task at hand and conceded that his team need to play beyond their quality to beat Benfica at Ibrox on Thursday night and progress in the Europa League.

The Belgian said in a press conference: “We have some players coming back also with Todd Cantwell.

“My players are ready, the hunger is there. We know we need to play above our level to qualify.

“We will give everything.”

Rangers have had some big scalps in the Europa League over the last few years and will look to add Benfica to that list this week.
