Manchester United striker Rasmus Hojlund has remained coy on the possibility of Matthijs de Ligt joining him at Old Trafford this summer.

The Premier League giants are in talks with Bayern Munich and the defender’s representatives over a deal to take him to England in the ongoing transfer window.

Manchester United have reportedly offered him a five-year to join them and the centre-back is open to a switch to the Red Devils with Erik ten Hag also in contact with him.

The club are now pushing hard to get a deal over the line, but Hojlund refused to respond to rumours of the Dutchman potentially becoming his team-mate at Old Trafford this summer.

However, he did insist that the former Juventus and Ajax star is a top centre-back.

Asked about Manchester United chasing De Ligt, the striker told Sky Deutschland: “Nothing to do with me, I can’t answer that question.

“But he is a good defender.”

Manchester United have cooled their interest in Jarrad Branthwaite due to Everton’s insistence on sticking to their €80m asking price.

Whether they can get a deal for De Ligt over the line in the coming days and weeks remains to be seen.
