Bundesliga club Stuttgart are set to bank €2m from Orel Mangala’s permanent move from Nottingham Forest to Lyon.

As the 30th June PSR deadline approached, Nottingham Forest were keen to balance the books at the City Ground and Mangala was set to move to France.

He joined Lyon on loan earlier this year, but has now signed permanently and Stuttgart, his former club, are set to benefit financially.

According to German daily Bild (via Fussball Transfers), Stuttgart will bank €2m from the deal.

It is a welcome cash influx for the Bundesliga side.

Mangala made 20 appearances in the Premier League for Nottingham Forest in the recently concluded season and was booked six times.

The Belgium international helped Lyon finish sixth, qualifying for a spot in the Europa League next season.

He started his career at Stuttgart and made over 100 appearances for the German side in the course of his spell.
