Hull City lead Sunderland, Sheffield United and Cardiff City in the hunt for FC Basel attacker Liam Millar, according to journalist Darren Witcoop.

The Tigers recently lost the services of winger Jaden Philogene to Aston Villa and are keen to bring in reinforcements in the final third for boss Tim Walter.

Millar spent last season on loan in the Championship at Preston North End, where he made an impression.

The former Liverpool youth player could leave Swiss side Basel again this summer and several Championship sides are keen.

Sunderland, Sheffield United and Cardiff City are all admirers of Millar, but it is Hull who currently lead the race.

Millar played against Hull twice in the Championship last term and the Tigers liked what they saw from the 24-year-old.

He enjoyed a red hot streak in December, with two goals and three assists across four Championship games.

Millar is now inside the final 12 months of his contract at St Jakob Park, having joined Basel in 2021.
