Wolves are putting Sam Johnstone through a medical ahead of signing him on a permanent deal from Crystal Palace, according to the Daily Mail.

The Black Country club have been in the market for a new goalkeeper in the ongoing transfer window.

Wolves were looking at several options but were limited by their constricted transfer budget and eventually settled on trying to sign Johnstone.

Crystal Palace have been keen to move on the former Manchester United academy graduate and a deal is in place between the two clubs for his transfer.

The 31-year-old is being put through a medical by Wolves at the moment ahead of the move

Once the goalkeeper passes a medical, Johnstone will sign a long-term contract with the Molineux outfit.

He lost his place in the starting eleven at Crystal Palace to fellow Manchester United academy graduate Dean Henderson.

Johnstone will hope to play regular first-team football at Wolves once he completes the formalities of the transfer.
