Rangers boss Philippe Clement is ‘very direct’, one of the Gers’ summer arrivals has revealed.

Clement found himself operating in a challenging situation as he looked to rebuild the Rangers squad over the course of the summer transfer window.

He took the call to move defender Connor Goldson on, but saw his efforts to convince Todd Cantwell to stay fail and the midfielder departed for Blackburn Rovers.

Clement wanted to bolster his defence and completed a late raid on Dutch giants Feyenoord to sign Neraysho Kasanwirjo on loan.

The defender spent last term in Austria on loan at Rapid Vienna and is pleased with how he has been welcomed to Scotland.

Kasanwirjo revealed that Clement is direct in telling him what he wants and he likes that.

“I was well received in Scotland”, he told Dutch outlet Voetbal Primeur.

“The coach is very direct and I need that.”

Asked about a possible return to De Kuip next year, the defender replied: “Who knows.”

It remains to be seen if Rangers might try to keep him permanently.
