Former top-flight star Tam McManus is of the opinion that the Rangers new boy Nedim Bajrami has so far failed to justify the money the Gers spent on him.

In the summer, Rangers dug deep in their pocket to pay a €3.5m fee to Serie B outfit Sassuolo to acquire the signature of attacking midfielder Bajrami.

The Albanian international has featured seven times for Rangers in the league and has produced only one goal so far.

McManus feels that Bajrami started well in Gers colours but admitted that he is yet to be convinced by his performances to justify the money the Scottish giants spent on him.

He also thinks that in the upcoming window Rangers will need to improve several areas of the squad, with the forward area being one of them and thinks that new signing Vaclav Cerny has been decent so far.

“I think that Rangers need better quality in certain areas, certainly in front areas”, McManus said on PLZ Soccer.

“Cerny has been decent, I think he has been the one; Bajrami started well, not convinced about him for the money.

Bajrami is a regular starter in Philippe Clement’s starting line-up and he will be keen to perform to prove his doubters wrong in the upcoming games.
