The 24-year-old centre-forward joined Leicester City from Red Bull Salzburg in the summer of 2021 for a transfer fee worth £23m, and even then was on Roma’s radar.

Last season Daka made 30 Premier League appearances for the Foxes, with the majority of them coming as a substitute.

Following Leicester’s relegation from the Premier League, a host of players are set to leave the King Power Stadium and Daka is expected to be one of them.

Roma sporting director Tiago Pinto is an admirer of the Zambian international and wants to take Daka to Roma this summer.

However, Roma’s hierarchy are concerned by Daka’s unavailability during January and February due to the Africa Nations Cup, according to Italian outlet Tutto Mercato.

Roma have already signed Houssem Aouar and Evan Ndicka, who will be unavailable for part of the campaign due to the Africa Nations Cup.

And the Giallorossi are in fear that addition of another African star can stretch their squad thin during the second half of the campaign.

Now it remains to be seen whether Roma will indeed continue efforts to land Daka.
