Dejan Kulusevski admits he spoke with countryman Lucas Bergvall about joining Tottenham Hotspur.

Emerging Swedish talent Bergvall was the subject of a tug-of-war between Tottenham and Barcelona in the winter transfer window.

It had seemed that Bergvall would be moving to the Camp Nou, but he sprung a surprise by snubbing Barcelona and signing for Tottenham.

The young Swede will complete the move in the summer and Kulusevski admits he did speak to his countryman about life at Spurs; Kulusevski explained why Spurs is the place to be and their future plans.

“I met him and it was nice to see him because I know him a bit”, Kulusevski told the Sun.

“I told him the truth, the same as what I tell everyone.

“How good this club is and the plans for the future.

“I didn’t want to tell him which club to join because that is hard, but it is the first time I’ve played with a Swedish player.”

Bergvall is a highly rated talent and Tottenham boss Ange Postecoglou will be keen to take a close look at him over the course of pre-season in the summer.
