The 27-year-old is set to enter the final year of his contract with RB Leipzig and has attracted transfer interest from clubs including Premier League side Tottenham.

While Sabitzer is yet to open talks with the German top flight side over a new deal, there have been suggestions that the club could choose to let his contract run down.

However, the Bundesliga outfit could be forced to sell the Austria international this summer as the player has a release clause in his contract with the club.

According to German magazine Sport Bild, RB Leipzig would have to part ways with Sabitzer this summer if they receive a fee of over €50m.

While the exact figure of the release clause has not been revealed, it remains to be seen if Tottenham will be prepared to fork out a sum of over €50m for the midfielder, especially as he is nearing the end of his deal.

With Sabitzer’s RB Leipzig contract coming to an end next summer, Spurs may be hopeful of holding talks with the German club and bringing the fee down.

Apart from Tottenham, Serie A outfit Roma are also said to be interested in acquiring the services of the former Red Bull Salzburg star, with former Spurs boss Jose Mourinho to take over.
