Van Veen, 31, joined the Steelmen from Scunthorpe United in 2021 and has so far made 69 league appearances for the Fir Park outfit while scoring 33 goals.

He has been in scintillating form this season and made an impact on Motherwell’s league campaign, as the prolific striker found the net 25 times in 38 league appearances.

His sublime displays have seen him linked with Rangers as the Glasgow outfit are set to rejig their squad ahead of next season’s campaign.

And McGinn admitted that there is a possibility his Dutch colleague might be lured away from Fir Park this summer.

We know we are going to have the wolves at the door”, McGinn was quoted as saying by the Daily Record.

But I’m sure the club will make sure, if he does go, we will get what is due.

Van Veen was on the scoresheet on Sunday as his side finished their Scottish Premiership campaign sitting atop the relegation split.

Now all eyes will be on Rangers whether they make a move for the 31-year-old striker in a bid to bolster their ranks ahead of next season’s campaign.
