Manchester United and Liverpool linked midfielder Teun Koopmeiners would prefer a move to a big Serie A club over a transfer outside Italy in the summer transfer window, it has been claimed.

The 25-year-old Dutch midfielder’s future at Atalanta is expected to come under sharp focus at the end of the season.

Koopmeiners’ impressive performances at Atalanta have piqued the interest of clubs across Europe ahead of the next transfer window.

He has suitors in England where Manchester United and Liverpool are believed to be considering a summer swoop for him.

However, according to Italian daily Gazzetta dello Sport (via TuttoJuve), the midfielder has a different preference for a move in the summer.

It has been claimed that the Dutchman would choose a big club in Serie A over a move outside Italy.

He is enjoying playing in Italy and wants to continue in Serie A even if he leaves Atalanta in the summer.

This is likely to give Juventus an edge in the race for Koopmeiners and he is one of their top targets for the next window.

Atalanta are set to demand a fee of €60m before agreeing to let the Dutchman leave in the coming months.
