Serie A giants Lazio are hoping to add French striker Djibril Cisse to their squad this summer and believe the 29-year-old could form a lethal partnership with Miroslav Klose.

Lazio snapped up veteran Germany striker Klose just days ago, pipping Valencia to his signature. And now Edy Reja’s side have switched their attention to yet more arrivals.

Cisse, who currently turns out for Greek giants Panathinaikos, is high on Lazio’s wanted list and the indications are that the former Liverpool striker could well be open to a move.

Panathinaikos’ budget is currently under pressure and Cisse, as a high earner in Athens, appears ripe for the chop if a suitable offer arrives.

Bought from Marseille in 2009, Cisse has been prolific in Greek football and helped Panathinaikos to the Super League title in the 2009/10 campaign.

This season however, the French striker has had to watch as bitter rivals Olympiacos reclaimed their crown.
