Turkish giants Galatasaray are stepping up their bid to sign Jose Antonio Reyes from Atletico Madrid.

Atletico are prepared to sell Spanish midfielder-cum-forward Reyes to Galatasaray, but only for the right price, one the Vicente Calderon outfit believe the Istanbul club have not yet reached.

At present, Galatasaray have, according to the Turkish media, placed a bid of some €5M on the table for Reyes. However, Atletico have sent back the message that a further €2M will be required for their offer to gain acceptance.

Reyes’ attitude towards a switch to Istanbul is unknown, but Galatasaray are preparing to put a lucrative offer in front of the former Arsenal man.

Galatasaray are determined to land a number of big-name signings this summer, with the club coming off the back of one of their worst ever seasons.

With the vast Turk Telekom Arena to fill, Galatasaray are expected to return with a new bid for Reyes imminently.
