Udinese are thought ready to accept an offer that has been put on the table by Barcelona for forward Alexis Sanchez.

The Catalans have been negotiating hard with the southern Italian side and were expected to submit a bid of €28M plus a further €11M to come depending on the player’s performances at the Camp Nou. However, this offer may now have changed.

Sources in Italy indicate that Udinese are angling to take either Jeffren or Thiago Alcantara instead of the further €11M performance-based payments. A deal of €28M plus one of the two Barcelona starlets would see the transfer rated in the €40M bracket.

English side Manchester City have been tracking Sanchez and themselves had a bid of €28M turned down; the Eastlands outfit are expected to return with a €31M cash offer.

But Sanchez himself has always remained keen on a move to Barcelona and has stated on several occasions the honour he would feel by turning out at the Camp Nou.
