Ukrainian giants Dynamo Kyiv have entered the race for Tottenham Hotspur midfielder Niko Kranjcar.

The Croatian schemer is ready to leave White Hart Lane if he can find a destination which offers him regular first team football and is a club of comparable standing.

And a move to one of Ukraine’s two most powerful clubs could fit the bill for Kranjcar, with Dynamo Kyiv keen to overhaul bitter rivals Shakhtar Donetsk next season – the Donbass Arena side completed a domestic double in 2010/11.

The 26-year-old came close to moving on from White Hart Lane in the January transfer window, but ultimately rejected the opportunity of switching to Werder Bremen.

While Roma were expected to lead the chase for the Croatian in the summer transfer window, the Giallorossi’s interest has cooled, leaving Dynamo Kyiv in a strong position.

The Ukrainians could make Kranjcar a lucrative offer if he opted to head eastwards, while he would also be a fulcrum of the side, rather than kicking his heels in England.
