Andre Villas-Boas has been confirmed as the new Chelsea manager.

The Portuguese provided FC Porto with €15M yesterday in order to secure his release from the Europa League winners.

A former assistant of Jose Mourinho at Stamfrod Bridge, Villas-Boas has penned a three-year deal with Chelsea.

“Andre was the outstanding candidate for the job”, read a statement released by Chelsea.

“He is one of the most talented young managers in football today.”

FC Porto wasted little time in appointing Villas-Boas’ replacement, handing his assistant Victor Pereira the job. The Portuguese champions are now braced for Villas-Boas to attempt to raid his former club for talents – starting with striker Falcao.
