Former Barcelona coach Frank Rijkaard has signed a deal to become the new coach of Saudi Arabia.

The Dutchman has been out of work since leaving his post as Galatasaray boss last year and has been constantly linked with a return to the game with several clubs.

However, Rijkaard is not returning to the game at club level, but will instead dip his toe once again into the waters of international management.

The 48-year-old previously managed at international level with Holland, bossing the Oranje between 1998 and 2000.

Rijkaard has been charged with steering Saudi Arabia to the 2014 World Cup.
