Florent Malouda has revealed that he wants to extend his contract with Chelsea through until 2014 – but only if the club continue to compete for titles.

The 31-year-old’s current deal at Stamford Bridge runs until the summer of 2013, but the winger himself would like to extend that for an extra year, explaining that he plans to play at the highest level until 2014.

"I have a contract until 2013 with Chelsea", said Malouda.

"My career plan is to play at a high level until at least 2014.

"There I must be on a team that plays for the title every year.

"My ambition is to continue until 2014 with Chelsea."

The initial signs are that new Chelsea boss Andre Villas-Boas will continue to trust in the French international, who has continued to progress during his time at Stamford Bridge.
