Brazilian midfielder Thiago Motta, who currently turns out for Serie A giants Inter, is happy to stay with the Italians despite interest from Arsenal.

According to Motta’s agent, the Gunners moved for the 28-year-old and were keen to take him to the Emirates. Motta though, wishes to stay put.

"It is true that the player had an offer from Arsenal", said the Brazilian’s agent Simone Canova to Sportitalia.

"He wants to stay at Inter and it is also the intention of the new coach that he does not move from there."

Motta joined Inter in 2009, moving from Genoa and helping the Nerazzurri to win the 2009/10 Champions League, Serie A and Coppa Italia.

Arsenal, who are expected to lose Cesc Fabregas and Samir Nasri over the coming weeks, are continuing to scour Europe for quality replacements.
