Cesc Fabregas looks one step closer towards leaving Arsenal for Barcelona after the Spaniard was left out of the club’s training tour of Germany.

Arsenal boss Arsene Wenger is desperate to keep hold of the 24-year-old, but Barcelona themselves are confident that this summer will finally see the conclusion of their long chase for Fabregas, with the midfielder moving back to his boyhood club.

And despite speculation continuing to increase and Fabregas’ absence from the tour suggesting the Gunners have tacitly admitted defeat, Wenger had no comment to make when questioned about what is happening with his captain.

"The position at the moment is a ‘no comment’ because there is no movement at all", said Wenger.

Barcelona are thought to have been in London over the last few days to push through their proposed swoop for Fabregas, with delegation leader Josep Maria Bartomeu hoping to quickly close a deal.

However, Arsenal want a minimum of £40M for Fabregas, an amount which so far the European Champions have been reluctant to meet.
