FC Porto have completed the signing of highly rated young Brazilian defender Alex Sandro from Santos.
The 20-year-old had been chased by Porto’s Portuguese rivals Benfica, but chose to head to the 2010/11 Europa League winners instead.
The Portuguese champions have paid €9.6M for Sandro and the player has declared his delight at inking a move.
"I am very happy to have signed with Porto", said the Brazilian.
"This is a new phase in my career and I’ve always dreamed of playing in Europe.
"It’s a club with great tradition, with over one hundred years of history, it has excellent infrastructure, a great stadium and, from what I’ve heard, a special crowd.
"It’s a dream come true."
