Sergio Aguero is closing on a move to Manchester City.
Aguero had been competing at the 2011 Copa America in his homeland of Argentina and so has not attended pre-season training with current club Atletico Madrid yet.
And the striker may never do so as a move to Eastlands looks more of a concrete prospect by the hour.
Aguero is due to fly into London today and he will hold talks with City over the proposed switch from the Vicente Calderon.
Atletico Madrid are happy for Aguero to leave for City as it avoids the unthinkable situation of the Argentine striker joining their bitter rivals Real Madrid.
There should be no hiccups in negotiations for the 23-year-old and his arrival at Eastlands looks a matter of when and not if.
