Chelsea have announced the completion of their move for young Spanish midfielder Oriol Romeu.
The 19-year-old arrives at Stamford Bridge from Barcelona to bolster Chelsea’s options in the middle of the park and has cost the Blues £4.35M.
However Barcelona, who continue to rate Romeu highly, have inserted a buy-back clause into the deal.
The European Champions will be able to bring Romeu back next year for €10M and the year after for €15M. After two years the clause will become void.
Romeu revealed he is sad to leave Barcelona but believes more first team chances will be forthcoming under Andre Villas-Boas at Chelsea.
"Chelsea is a great option for me", said the Spaniard.
"Leaving Barca hurts, but you have to take your chances."
