Michel Bastos is ready to close the door on a possible exit from Lyon by signing a new contract with the French giants.
Bastos has been chased by Juventus for most of the summer, but the Bianconeri were unable to complete a swoop. There was interest too from Chelsea and Liverpool, although neither of the English clubs moved to submit a bid.
And thus the flying Brazilian wideman began the new Ligue 1 season at Lyon and has also now confirmed that he is speaking to Les Gones about an extended contract.
"It really touched me that the club wanted me to continue for another two years", said Bastos, revealing Lyon’s proposal.
"I was surprised a little because we also talked a lot about me leaving.
"With two more years, I am again at four years to go and I would be 32 at the end of my contract, it’s not bad.
"I hope to be able to solve it as soon as possible."
