After much speculation it appears that Rennes have agreed a fee with Paris Saint-Germain to buy striker Mevlut Erding.

A deal was thought to be done and dusted, but Rennes played down the talk, insisting that they had other targets in their sights too, not just the Turkey striker.

Now however, sources in France confirm that the Breton club have agreed a fee of around €8M with PSG for Erding.

The 24-year-old had initially planned to remain at PSG and fight for his place, but a wave of new arrivals means that Erding will have limited time on the pitch this season.

Therefore a switch to Rennes looks acceptable.

Erding was also linked with English Premier League side Newcastle United earlier in the transfer window.
