Fulham have met FC Twente’s challenge and submitted an improved offer for Bryan Ruiz.

Martin Jol, currently manager at Craven Cottage, has been keen on the Costa Rica star for some time, but the English club had failed to meet Twente’s expectations over the fee the 26-year-old should command.

Now Fulham have returned with an offer of £10.6M and this amount has been deemed good enough by Twente.

Ruiz, an attacking all-rounder, has flown to England and will now push through a deal with the English Premier League outfit.

The player has spoken positively of Fulham in recent weeks, claiming that Jol’s side represented "a serious option for me."

Ruiz impressed last season in the Champions League and was a key figure in Twente’s Eredivisie title winning campaign in 2009/10.
