The Owls raised some eyebrows when they handed 34-year-old Rohl his first managerial position and charged him with leading them out of trouble in the Championship.
Rohl suffered defeat at Watford in his first game in charge, but for inspiration could do worse than look at countryman Farke, who has Leeds now sitting in third spot.
Farke admits he does not know his fellow German and cannot make a judgement on how he works or his tactical preferences.
However, he insists that Rohl will have to deal with the most difficult league in the world and simply has to get through it, developing quickly.
“We are different people; I’ve never met him or know his personality or tactical choices or the way he works”, Farke told a press conference.
“For everyone I have my fingers crossed and I hope he will do a good job. Sheffield is a big job.
“I am far away from giving hints.
“The Championship is the toughest league in the world and the first season on this level is always difficult.
“You have to develop pretty quick. Experience helps, but if you want to be there you have to go through it.”
While he does not know Rohl, Farke admits he has heard good things about his countryman and the coaching potential he has.
“From what I hear he has good potential. Hopefully he brings this into the job”, the Leeds boss added.
Sheffield Wednesday are due to face Plymouth Argyle away from home on Wednesday night in the Championship.
