Former Birmingham City first team coach Carl Robinson is of interest to League Two side Salford City, according to the Daily Mail.

Robinson was recently sacked by Birmingham as part of the changes which saw Wayne Rooney lose his job at Blues.

The first team coach may not be out of work for long though and could be set for a managerial position.

Former Wales midfielder Robinson is drawing interest from League Two strugglers Salford.

Salford have been without a manager since parting ways with Neil Wood in late December and are admirers of Robinson.

The club currently sit fourth bottom of the League Two table and just five points outside the drop zone.

Salford have been hoping to mount a promotion push, but find themselves battling at the wrong end of the league table.

They are on a run of four straight League Two defeats and all eyes will be on whether former Birmingham coach Robinson takes the job.
