Ligue 1 outfit Rennes have joined Napoli and Juventus in the race to sign Orel Mangala and have submitted an official bid to Nottingham Forest.

Though Napoli were the early entrant, the race for Mangala’s services has heated up in the last few days with Juventus having also joined in.

While Nottingham Forest are prepared to loan Mangala, they want an option to buy in the deal which, if not triggered, would mean a hefty loan fee is due.

Now another side have arrived on the scene in the shape of Rennes.

Rennes have even gone on to submit an official bid in the last few hours, according to Sky Deutschland.

The French side want the midfielder initially on loan until the end of the season with an option to buy him in the summer for a fee of around €25m, which includes add-ons.

Nottingham Forest owner Evangelos Marinakis though has a high opinion about the player and wants more money.

It now remains to be seen what Nottingham Forest’s response to Rennes’ offer is and whether the French club come up with yet another offer in the event their initial bid is rejected.
